Our Team

We are a small team of dedicated people who aim to show God's love for the world by making St John's as welcoming as possible and by serving the needs of those around us.

Our Priest-in-Charge is The Rev'd Canon Sarah Jones. Sarah joined us in October 2018 having previously been the Rector of the Benefice of Ross with Walford and Brampton Abbotts in the diocese of Hereford.

Sarah was ordained in 2004 having had a career in the music business and commerce and in sales and management training.

The Rev'd Heather Temple-Williams was ordained Deacon in June 2022 and is our Assistant Curate. Heather takes services, leads projects and is involved in pastoral work.

Heather has a strong background in Communications and in social justice. We are delighted to have her with us.

We are lucky to have an Ordinand on placement with us at St John's. Rob is training for ordained ministry at St Padarns Theological College, Llandaff. Rob is with us on Sundays and on Tuesdays.

Rob has many years of church experience in Bangor Diocese, he is a talented musician and a fluent Welsh speaker. Rob joined us in October 2023 and will be with us until the Spring of 2025.

Rev'd Joe Smith joined our Ministry Team in September 2023. Joe is the Anglican Chaplain to Cardiff University and brings much experience from his time in Lichfield Diocese.

Joe is a musician and likes making electronic music which we hope to incorporate into some St John's services and events soon. He will be taking a lead in looking after etc students and younger members of our Community.

The Rev'd Stephen Roberts is our Associate Priest. Stephen is Tutor in Theology and Mission at South Wales Baptist College. He has published many papers on the themes of inter-faith relations, theology and music, chaplaincy, and public theology.

Stephen is a musician and plays saxophone in Cardiff-based band, Wonderbrass.

We are delighted that Hannah Seal has joined us as a Church Army Evangelist as the Llandaff Centre of Mission has relocated to St John's.

Hannah is an experienced Church Army worker and she has previously served in Llandaff Diocese and Monmouth Diocese before returning to Llandaff in October 2023.

Quentin and Richard are our Churchwardens. They are technically officers of the Bishop and thy have a legal responsibility in some respects of the role. They work very hard indeed and our Common Life is much improved by the work that they do.
